Loom User Roles
Loom provides different user roles based on your subscription plan. The following roles are available within our current plan:
Viewer: Viewers have complimentary access with limited permissions. They can react to and comment on videos shared within a workspace but cannot record, upload, or edit content. When posting a video, you may see an "invite to edit" option to extend additional permissions to viewers.
Creator: Creator accounts are paid licences that provide full functionality. Creators can record, share, organise, upload, and edit videos within the platform.
Admin: Each workspace requires at least one Admin. Admin accounts are priced at the same rate as Creator licences. Admins have all Creator privileges plus additional access to manage workspace settings and user roles.
Loom Licensing at Access
Creator licences represent a cost to the organisation. Our current budget allocation covers licences exclusively for Customer Success Management and Digital Support Engineer roles. Employees outside these functions will not be assigned Creator licences, and our administration team will decline any such requests.
⚠️ Important: Limited exceptions may apply where an ATG member has approved a licence or where teams joined Access through acquisition with existing cross-functional Loom usage.
Loom Alternatives
If you aren't delivering a Customer Success Management or Digital Support Engineer role, there are alternatives to Loom that offer similar functionality that you may be able to leverage.

Licence Usage Reviews
The Digital CX Operations team conducts usage audits every 90 days. Any Creator who has not actively used their licence will be contacted to:
Understand the reasons for non-usage
Confirm whether continued access is required
If it is determined that a Creator licence is no longer needed, the user's access will be downgraded to Viewer status.
